Guest lecturers;
Guest lecturers will be invited (a confirmation will be needed) to participate in the panel, in order to discuss teaching and studying differences in their native countries. Each guest lecturer should represent a different country if possible.
The diversity of international guest lecturers will open up for others different teaching methods implemented in their nations and universities.

What will be discussed?;
Discussion topics will range from educational teaching method differences, to students participation in real life case situations etc. Discussion topics and questions will be scoped and defined later.
The Panel discussion will be led by a student host, who will keep the panel discussion on timetable and direct the questions to individuals.

How?;
Students will be placed on stage and seated next to each other. Time for student Q&A 30 minutes. The host will ask the students questions,  about their experiences in Laurea compared to  their home universities.  The host will interact with the audience and the panel will be open for questions through the duration of the event. Student lecturers will be encouraged to interact with the students in the spot light and ask questions.
Following the students, a number of guest lecturers will be move into the stage. The host will direct questions for the lecturers regarding teaching methods and their differences in comparison to Laurea. This segment of the panels will be open for questions. Students and Laurea lecturers will be encouraged to ask questions regarding educational method differences. The segments will last 30 minutes, the panel discussion, 60 minutes.

Objectives;
Students and lecturers of Laurea and its partner universities will learn the differences between educational methods, practiced in a variety of countries. Lecturers will learn the background and education culture from a variety of students representing a variety of nations. All participants will gain understanding of the previously mentioned; hence generate understanding and further questions.  The discussion generated by the panels can help Laurea and its partner universities develop new teaching methods by getting the students and guest lecturer’s points of view.  Methods can be shared and developed together. The pros and cons of methods will be discussed.
Post-event;
Coffee and snacks will be provided. Participants can continue the discussion in a more casual manner. Post-event discussion may generate more ideas, that can be picked up and re-discussed in later lecturers or presentations.
Things to do;
  • Define “interview” questions for students and guest lecturers.
  • Recruit and confirm students and guest lecturers.
  • Send proposal to international team for feedback and approval.
  • Send panel topic and questions presenters.
  • Recruit a host.
  • Plan post-event mingle, coffee and food.
