Second Day

After many lectures and a funny course by our Finnish teacher Leena, it is time to check out all the good things that Helsinki has to offer! So when everyone was gathered in the buss, we took of to the city center. Lisa taught us all about the funny facts of Helsinki with a quiz, so now at least we know that a reindeer is to be eaten, and a bear protects Finland, by serving as the national animal of this country.

Then, our lovely tour guide Heather took over! She provided all of you with some serious valuable information for your stay, because who doesn’t want to know in which bar to have the best karaoke?! Some deeper knowledge was about the way Finland is ruled by the president and about the habit of Finnish people to wash their carpet out in the sea! At the first stop, we had a nice group-picture with Sibelius en later on, we got to discover the best Finnish design-products of all times. Especially that vase.. People can be really passionate about it, better watch it!

After the design museum we had a nice walk through the park, where Heather told us about the battle that was going on between two restaurants. And when everyone was just about to ask when the dinner would start.. We entered Bryggeri Restaurant, our last stop of the day! The dinner was very welcome and it was an excellent way to experience the Finnish food!

Do you all still remember some of the words Leena taught you?

Moimoi!
